We asked readers to ID this seed pod -- and generated a little debate.
One of our in-house experts agrees with reader Janet T, who thinks its a Honey Locust seed pod. Another says it's a Black Locust pod.
After viewing the video below, we are leaning toward Honey Locust.

For me the telltale sign is the pointed end. Honeylocust (one word) pods end in a long point, whereas Black Locust (two words) are rounded. So if you find a small flat pod, you can still see the difference.

Definitely honey locust--black locust pods are short and straight, like flattened pea pods.
